There was a Datsun 280ZX at Cars and Coffee this weekend. Pretty nice by itself, but then the owner popped the hood, and this was there. Me gusta.

That is pretty ridiculous. I want it.

Also want the LS powered FD RX-7 we saw. A lot.

Scarab. Needs a bigger torsion bar IMHO

It seems like everyone goes the knock-off Scarab route lately. I just wish they did all the supporting mods and suspension work to make them work well. I'm always curios to see what they actually use the cars for... since they seem to be mostly some kind of weekend engineering experiment.

I'm always so torn over these. This particular installation looks like the motor is sitting pretty high off the ground. But the bigass iron L24 is still a pretty high and forward center of gravity, so I'd be it doesn't change the handling as much as one might assume.

But something seems so wrong with not having that straight 6 screaming up over 6k rpm.

Side note: the guy I bought my Z from had another Z with a ford 5.0 sitting WAY back and low in the engine bay + flared fenders, big wheels, roll bar - that thing was badass. I think a lot of the V8Z potential is in the execution, and this - though a worthy attempt - doesn't seem nice enough to wing me over.
